We Like Them, We Really Do

That, in turn, provided fodder for pundits who enjoy portraying Canadians as foolishly anti-American. According to them (the Canadian anti-Canadians), it's as if Canadians are completely out of step with the rest of the world, the result of some deep and long-standing inferiority complex that even Dr. Phil couldn't treat. But are Canadians truly anti-American? Do we really dislike our nearest neighbour, with whom we share -- so far, at least -- the longest undefended border in the world? Well, according to a worldwide poll conducted this summer by the Pew Global Attitudes Project, most Canadians hold favourable views of America. In fact, we are the third most pro-American nation of any of the 16 countries polled by Pew, a respected international think-tank co-chaired by former U.S. Secretary of State Madeline Albright. http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/westview/story/3228586p-3737415c.html

I just think this interesting. A 'feel good' story, yet everyone would rather nip at each other's throats in other threads.

Seems someone doesn't want to be good neighbours anymore. Or are the anti-Canadians just adding wood to their own smouldering fire.

A neighbour everyone loves to hate but would be disappointed to loose them. Bush is unfortunatly what we call American. Once he goes, there will be less vocal distention.

I look at America this way - the have the power to be the greatest nation ever - they can literally change the course of human history for the better if they want to. Problem is, they don't want to. They are too preoccupied with power and greed. Uber-capitalism has driven that nation to where it is, and Bush et al are but the newest faces of it.

My American cousin puts it this way - we had our time in the sun, now we must fade out before we can climb back. To that effect anyways, but i get what he means.

Greed is a deadly sin and they are as deep as deep gets when it comes to that.

One last thing - far too many Americans think criticism of the US government and corporations is targeted at them personally - which is far from the truth. I think rather than face the problems that plague them, they strike out at the messenger instead. Alot of this has to do with the constant humm of "America is the best". Americans are inward looking people, so when told their shiit stinks, I can see how that upsets some of them. Nobody wants to be told they stink. Your government is your armpit - it needs a fresh dose of deoderant - don't take it personally. Shower off and come back to the world community. We may have to wait until 2008, but we are not going anywhere.

Americans are wonderful people and I have had the pleasure to meet many interesting Americans on my few travels throughout the United States. They have many nice areas of their country like New York City and state of Florida. It is just that their government is too corrupt like our own and many other governments in the world. Will democracy fade one day? Maybe. Will it be rebuilt? Hopefully. Would I continue to visit the United States throughout my life? Without hesitation. Would I live there? No. I am planning to live in Europe in the near future if Canada continues to slip down the steep slope it is going on. For now, I will stick to Canada and see what happens. I definitely will travel through parts of Europe if I don't move there.

The "internationally respected" PEW (hold yer nose) Center is a Leftist radical propaganda center used by Albright who was a Democrat Party EX "Secretary of State" under one of the most corrupt government administrations in U.S. history. The sole purpose of the "Pew Center" is to make repeated attempts to destroy international credibility of the CURRENT (non-Democrat Party) U.S. government administration to ease/facilitate a successful Hillary Clinton run for president in 2008. It's all on paper. But none outside of the U.S. is aware it seems (at least not that they will publicly admit). It's founded and funded by the U.S. Democrat Party. Specifically the same group (Billary Clinton fam, Al Gore, Joel Hyatt, MooreMoney please Michael's moveon.orgasm, U.S. Dem Party, CBC, Newsworld International, Vivendi Universal, Bertelsman AG, Time Warner, yada yada) who has business/international propaganda corporate conglomoration ties with Canada's Desmarais family/Lieberal Party/Power Corporation of Canada/Chretien fam/Martin fam...all one big happy EuroCanuck/U.S. Democrat Party FAMILY working together to oust the government of America which was FREELY ELECTED BY THE PEOPLE of America itself...outside foreign intervention with the internal affairs of American government facilitated by their EuroCanuck/Communist/Terrorist groups paid shills. PEW CENTER???? Pew..yeah, right...more like a PULPIT!!! Research Madelaine Albright...and the Pew Center...discover for yourself when it was established with what funding and who operates it...it's purely a partisan political tool for the left...the U.S. Democrat Party...to influence the opinion of not only the American public, but it's propaganda is disseminated gloabally utilizing the media networks (you all know which) owned, operated, and controlled by the EuroCanuck corporations which are traceable back to Canada's Desmarais family owned, federal government of Canada (Lieberal Party) backed POWER CORPORATION OF CANADA...and here's a cool story illustrating how Americ'a "relationship" with Canada is progressing...refusing to take your refuse (eh)...about damned time...<br />

    excuse me,i'm american, i'm a little, well you know, slow. this site isn't really anti-american, it's anti-capitalist and anti-competition!

does this lock in with some of this new-age stuff where guys turn into metro-males and express their feminine side? yeah, it does.

the anti-capitalist,anti-competition,anti-male mantra of an uptight, angry, puritanical,straight-edge ultra left-wing true believer.
