Canada Signs Energy Pact

Posted on Tuesday, July 24 at 09:51 by Rural
The partnership was billed as the first-ever trilateral agreement on energy science and technology between Canada, Mexico and the United States. It sets a framework designed to stimulate innovation on science and technology on energy issues between the three countries. The ministers said they will commit to further align energy-efficiency standards on consumer products, adding they recently harmonized energy performance standards for refrigerators, air conditioners and large electric motors. U.S. Secretary of Energy Samuel Bodman and Mexico's Secretary of Energy Georgina Kessel were part of the signing ceremony. Bodman said the energy agreement reaffirms the commitment to create a strong, unified energy market between the three countries. http://www.thestar.com/News/article/238977
