It's pretty generous to call Campbell government "right-of-centre".

To paraphrase: "10 months is a long time in politcs." There's plenty of time to flood the "market" with the right promises (the 'wishlist'), to spread the "fear of socialism", and to get business to make rosy forecasts of a "booming" economy.

I heard from a friend, who read it in The National Post (I think), that the BC Liberals have vowed to reinvest money into social programs.

If true, they are trying to win over all the people they alienated. Also, would it not be true that it costs WAY more to restart a program than to maintain it?

    < insert anger here >

I really hope the NDP has a chance, but perhaps I am just too young to remember all the lame stuff they did (fast ferries, Glen Clark - so my dad says).

The lesser of evils, perhaps we can continue the lessening trend... NDP then... ?

BC must be hoping for even bigger transfer payments from the feds if they're considering an NDP government, that might work out for them. Who needs to establish their own economy when suckers in Ontario and Alberta will pay their way, Confederation works.

It all really goes to show ya that governments need a real restraint on the money they handle. None of them know how to do it efficiently, as they all regard their income sources as bottomless pits.

The NDP inherited a mess from the Socreds (the old Liberals), then went on to balance three consecutive budgets. The Liberals (old Socreds), have left us with three deficits. The NDP did some dumb things but hardly as dumb as the Liberals. Everyone in BC except for the Vancouver Board of Trade hates the Liberals and it is not just a dislike, it is real hate.
