If you are truly determined to change things in this country, you'll have to do a hell of a lot more than a half hearted attempt such as you described.
Use any open line shows in your area and continually reinforce the concept of "do not support ANY political party with your time or your MONEY" and relate every story involving friends of the party ( any party) who get an advantage as being an extra expense to taxpayers, every "loan" to a business that happens to be owned by one of the party faithful is taking away from infrastructure, education, roads, social benefits.
WE KNOW we are getting to the parties provincially. Here in N.S., the Tories didn't get a majority and the Liberals and NDP have proven to be the paper tigers they are. The adversarial "government" that likes to popularize itself as "democratic" is a myth. Our goal is to de-mystify ( I just coined the word ) through education of a public that has been fed bullshit for too many years.
I have asked all members to record their newscasts every night and keep those stories that can act as memory-joggers in years to come.
Personally, I was editing some of these recently and have a clip of our current federal Finance Minister, Goodale, announcing he was putting 23 million into building an infrastructure to deliver hydrogen fuel to motorists in Ontario a couple of years ago. As an Ontario resident, I would ask you this: is there any concrete evidence in Ontario, to date, of hydrogen filling stations available to motorists ?
I'll bet there ain't. Certainly not 23 Million dollar's worth.
These bastards rely on, and, in fact, are certain that people don't/won't remember these things. WE'RE making sure they do... and are reminded when these despicable phonies come sucking for votes.
We have long ago adopted the philosophy of the woodpecker. We will continue to peck and peck at the BIG tree and, eventually it will all come crashing down. Develop your own strategy and be resolute. You're on the ground in Ontario and should have the insight to push their buttons. Be honest with people and educate them on how they're really being screwed. That's what we've been doing and we will not be bought off for any price.
Get angry, get good and angry and don't be prepared to put up with ANY of this nonsense anymore. It's time to find where in hell the proverbial buck stops.

What we need is a major "Vote Independent" campaign. Wherever possible, we should make it known to Canadians that the root of our suffering lies in party politics and the corruption and elitism that goes with it. Write "letters to the Editor"; call the radio talk shows. Find independent candidates to run in your constituency. Support their campaigns.
We stand a chance of ensuring another minority government; this time with enough "shit disturbing" independents to give us some voice in Ottawa. Let's not blow our chance!
I also think that any candidate who is willing to stand for Canada must be educated on the issues, too often once a person becomes a candidate and has the blessings of their party, they do nothing, except show up at the debates, and get their picture taken voting. The big parties have the funds to get their propaganda out there, and signs, brochures, radio and t.v. messages all cost money. So if someone is willing to be accountable and be a real voice for their constituents, then people need to get behind them, both monetarily and physically. None of us will beat this democratic deficit alone, and no one can run a campaign alone, so if we are committed to Canada as a free nation, with government accountable to us, we better start speaking up and get informed, nobody will do it for us!
Really I ask you have you heard any other party speaking out on the current proposed legislation which threatens Canadians privacy, has any other party stated clearly Abrogate NAFTA now, has any other party ever mentioned monetary reform, or the disgusting handling of our public coffers, other than to scream about Sponsorship, which really is only the tip of the iceberg? That is one advantage of a party, if the party stays true to the grassroots, and CAP has nothing but grassroots influence, so we won't have to answer to anyone but the voter.

Sad fact is: unless you want to see Canadian soldiers on the ground in Iraq (and Iran), missle defence and total monetary and political union with the US, we have to suck it up and vote Libs.
The alternatives are: Harper (a vote for Harper is a vote for Uncle Sam) or the NDP: (bye-bye economy).
Example: If a party platform is to Abrogate NAFTA and they win a majority government, then it should automatically go through. If they win a minorty then they should be putting the best argument on the table, enlist Canadian public opinion and put pressure on all parties to support it. If they are a candidate and win their seat based on this, then they have an obligation to do whatever they can to get it on the agenda.
If they campaign on this and win their seat, and do nothing, there should be serious consequences, like recall. This needs to be changed in our system, candidates must be accountable to the people first.
Liberal and Conservative have the same agenda, it's just one will get their sooner! Get informed, know your candidate and what they stand for, then vote according to what is right, not what colour or what party, or the way your parents did; the last statment kills me, the party of the parents, does not exist, there are new members, new leaders and new ways of conducting business; the voter needs to take a new path to finding the truth.

I think if a candidate is going to run on a party platform, they should believe in the party, and be able to convince you to believe also, in other words the party platform should be their platform, there should be no difference in the two. If not then how can they represent that platform in parliament?
This election should be extreme in the sense that voters, turn out to vote, show up at debates and question the candidates, call in to talk shows, and otherwise really get their issues out there being talked about. I don't think we should let the parties decide what are the important issues for Canadians, we should make our issues known, and make sure they address them. A real democratic revolution would be awesome, if the people actually involved themselves in this next election, that would be extreme! IMO

aAre only believer of democractic society found within political parties, now if you believe that then Canada is in much rougher shape than I imagined.

Good government is not a party government
Can you get a straight answer from a politician? Seldom, usually you have to rely on the form letters in response to a question, prepared by an assistant, or wait for the official press release. This is where we get the 'who do they work for' sense, if they can't respond to us, their bosses, then they don't work for us!

As I have said many times, what you believe in and what I believe in, there is very little difference. The only difference is you feel that the only way to bring about change is through the party structure, I feel that you can make a difference on your own.
It will only take several good people, such as you to make a big difference in Ottawa. I do not believe in the party structure, but I would be willing to put my money behind you as a candidate.
The reason I say behind you as a candidate, is because if what you are saying is the truth, then the party will not take control of you, because you will be there for the people of your constituency.
How much control will the Canadian Action Party have over it candidates or should I ask how much freedom will an elected Action Party Candidate have ?
Remember Catherine, censorship is the killer .

No Catherine, I was not saying that about you. I was suggesting there are not many people like you around who are willing to take on this present dirty system. We truly do need to find away to reform how government works.
Here in Nova Scotia the Hamm ConServatives are handing over 15.5 million to a private company and just last week the Hamm Conservative "government" purchased property belonging to that same company. While in the Herald today it is written , the Hamm Conservative Party are closing bed in the childrens hospital, christ people here in Nova Scotia are really stupid aren't we?????
When will we wake up and see our tax dollars used for what they are suppose to be used for " PUBLIC INFRASTRUCTURE"

The thing is that tomorrow I could live in a different area of the country and the problems created today, will be my problems. So it is time for us to unite, even if our elected members can't seem to understand that; shouldn't the MP's from the West be concerned and supportive of the people of the East and vice versa? I think that is the point of government, people from various areas of the country coming together to act as one voice, to improve the lives of all. I mean the issues might be different but they usually share a common threat, that being to air, water, soil, food, health, education, seniors issues, and the quality of life of the people.

All of the other political parties make no bones about it they too understand the situation as wee see it and for years they too have came to power saying they would fix it, but instead they have made it worst and have forgotten what they offered to repair the problems.
They continue to bleed our tax dollars away from the public infrastructure and place those infrastructure dollars into the hands of their political friends in business. Then “the governing party” complains how it does not have the funds to keep open hospital beds, pave roads or assist with education and we the stupid people keep trading the Liberals for the ConServatives and every once in a while the New Democratic Party , this is why I say the vast majority are brain washed or brain dead, cruel words, but true words.
We the voters must demand more from our politicians, and this is why I think that our parliamentary system must be reformed. I like just about everything that the Canadian Action Party offers up to Canada , now how do you better position your party to get there. I would think that David Orchard should be approached , he has won the respect of many Canadians. Maybe Maude Barlow from the Council of Canadians , more women in the party might also be a trigger and please stay away from these special interest groups who feel as if life is all about them. ( Unions ) and (business organizations) for example, make the party about what is best for Canada, it should be not “what can Canada do for the party” , but “what can the party do for Canada.”
