U.S. Puts Machine-Guns On Great Lakes Coast Guard Vessels

Posted on Thursday, March 16 at 10:22 by nancymarie
The Rush-Bagot Treaty of 1817 allowed each country to station four vessels, each equipped with an 18-pound cannon, to safeguard the Great Lakes. The antiquated treaty has recently been reinterpreted because of U.S. concerns about customs violations, human smuggling and international terrorism. Live-fire drills conducted near Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. Each vessel is now equipped with a 7.62-mm machine-gun, a light military gun that is the same calibre as a deer rifle but capable of shooting 600 bullets per minute. http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/2006/03/15/coastguard-060315.html

why would they invade that which has been given them by the Canadian electorate?

You assist an evil system most effectively by obeying its orders and decrees.
An evil system never deserves such allegiance.
    Allegiance to it means partaking

    An invasion? With 7.62 ammo?

Not likely, the skin of dolphins* is adapted for salt water not fresh.

In fresh their skin would start deteriorating almost immediately.

*Yeah I know about the fresh water dolphin of South America, work with me here :P

7.62 mm is a Nato round for small arms. That way we(they) could more easily organize a multinational task force with northern European approval if any peacekeeping ...er ... I mean "peacemaking" action is required north of the Great Lakes.

The more I find out about the american system, the more convinced I am that it is corrupt to the core.

giving the border patrol weapons is like giving the transit police guns.

sooner or later they will shoot someone,or themselves in the foot, proving that some people should never be given guns.

then again AMERIKANS are born with guns in their hands, now there is a scary sight, chuck heston as a newborn with a malfunctioning american made firearm trying to find a target to test his god given rights to kill something...

ahhh, the right to bear arms...even when they ain't necessary

corrupt? How? Because they publicly guarded their borders against illegal entry? What a crime. Those bastards!!
Yeah, giving the military weapons is totally like giving transit guards guns...except all you really need to get a dirty bomb from Ontario to Michigan is a speedboat, so maybe it makes sense to STOP THEM.
You can't stop them with words and flowers, believe it or not. And if a poor Canadian gets killed trying to sneak onto American soil during war then yeah...I wont cry.
