I'm still amazed people can't see right through this guy, his platform is based on fiction.

Check this out.

It's time more people woke up to the fact that Harper will lead this country down the tubes.

    Harper predictions
Massive military spending (lots of photo ops with Bush)
Massive social spending cuts. (Gordon Campbell said tax cuts would pay for themselves, no programs would be cut and then he cut everything righ to the bone. Harper and Campbell are one and the same.
    Privitized health care
    Removal of border
    Move to US dollar

    Harper cannot be trusted

Sorry but it's too hard to believe Toronto Star editorials. The Star has its own agenda, as laid out by its original proprietor, so Star editorials have to be seen in that light - this is not the first time they've done some of their own figure fudging.

Even worse. Harper's in serious trouble if he gets elected, starts pandering to the Bush administration... And then finds Kerry in the White House in November. Bush's *censored*-ups just might be enough to make up for Kerry's wet cardboard personality. That might do more to hurt US-Canada relations than Cretien's refusal to take part in the subjugation of Iraq.

We don`t need to read the Toronto Star to see the real danger Harper poses to the country!

Unfortunately, the dollar amounts attached to government spending and election promises have become almost meaningless, especially in light of recent events in Ontario. Unless the Auditor General or an arm's length accounting firm, if that's possible, were enabled to give the electorate a firm idea of what the numbers are before an election and during an administration, politicians always seem to say 'the cupboard is bare and we didn't know' once they get into office. This is disingenuous at best but they seem to get away with it. More power to the Auditor General!

We don`t need to read the Toronto Star to see the real danger Harper poses to the country!
Yah your right Dave. All one needs is a little common sense. When someone say's one thing and means one thing, but realizes the damage so he decides to backtrack what he said and meant. Its sort of dumb to trust him already, nevermind trusting him as Prime Minister. He should not be trusted at all now. I can just image how many people are voting Conservatives not realizing that they may elect another Mulroney x 2 or 3. These voters if they don't know the leader and the party their voting for. Then maybe they should just not vote at all. Its time maybe we have a educated process for people to know the politicians. Maybe its just people not paying attention when they should before election. Well, sadly, you`re right, Kevin. Too many people aren`t paying attention. I went around to about 4 people today in my factory and asked people if they were going to vote. 3 said yes and one said she didn`t know. But all 4 said that they 'don`t pay much attention to it.' Then, when I started to talk about some of the issues facing our country, all of them got squeamish and either changed the subject real quick, or they just looked at me like I just flashed them ,then went quickly to talk to someone else. I don`t know what it`s going to take to get people empassioned about their own diminishing freedom!

I get the same feeling, everybody wants something but few are willing to risk being criticized for an opinion, they won't speak out because they feel they don't know enough or if they have a differing opinion they'll be shot down and not have enough info to defend themselves. But also they don't want to put the effort into finding out what is going on, and I don't think it's because they are lazy, just that they believe what we've been told, that is too difficult an issue for common folk, we'll leave that up to the politicians...which is why we have apathy by the masses and the corruption going on at the top.

I watched a street interview, and 3 people were asked who they were voting for. The first 2 said Cons, and the third said she hasn't made up her mind yet, then she said "I really don't know much about politics".

    At least she admitted it.

There's lots out there like that.
