It's a home for disgruntled Tories who are extremely unhappy about the merger of the Alliance and the Progressive Conservatives, but can't bring themselves to support Paul Martin's Liberals.

"What our party exemplifies is classical conservatism," Tisdall said.

"The conservatism that has a disposition to preserve, but an ability to improve," he added, quoting 18th century political philosopher Edmund Burke.

Kevin, there is an Elvis impersonator running in the riding of Belinda Stronach, and he is using the name of the Progressive Conservative Party of canada, which is still before the courts if I remember the details well.

As well, he is an ordained minister. Cute !!

It was on CPAC the last couple of days.

    Interesting times, huh ???

Jim I was aware of the other PC candidate running agsint Stronach. It would be interesting to see maybe a split of vote in that riding and have the NDP win that riding.

Just notice the quote that the admin put in that submission. People like Sean reassures me that the young are in fact attracted to issues such as Canadian sovreignty.

note that Progressive Conservative is not the same as Progressive Canadian, despite sharing an acronym.

Could also note that the people behind the new Progressive Conservative party had tried to register the Progressive Conservative name first with election Canada but it was rejected. I believe they were also told that they couldn't have the name conservative in the name. It was a smart move to go with the name Progressive Canadian as many voters will still remember the brand of the PC name.

Joe Hueglin is the founder of the Progressive Canadian party.

    Hello Kevin

I agree with you. Could you imagine if we could combine the PC brand name with what all the other parties could bring into a One Big Party? What a great thing for the people of Canada.

    Yup.
