U.S. Relationship With Canada Tense, Policy Director Says

Posted on Tuesday, March 21 at 13:12 by jensonj
Fagan was a columnist for Canadian newspaper, The Globe and Mail, for several years, where much of his focus was on Canada’s economy and relations with the United States. Fagan traced problems between the countries to a lack of understanding between the two cultures. Fagan showed how the countries don’t get along through a story about how Canadian troops bickered with American troops during the war in Afghanistan. “When Canada first went to Afghanistan, we didn’t have khaki uniforms; We had green uniforms to fight in the desert.” Fagan said. “The United States offered us khaki ones, but we said no.” URL: http://bw.lehigh.edu/story.asp?ID=19580

when were canadians and americans ever buddy, buddy ?

and i don't mean the people, cause it's always the boys upstairs making the noise.

there are very few americans i have ever had a nasty encounter with and the one i did have a really nasty encounter with was a criminal/mugger.

so for me that's one out of 350 million, pretty good odds i would say.

then again i aint talking to george w bush and his ilk and from what i see on the news i aint the only one that don't like george and his posse.so ,mark another one for the good people that populate that terrible empire building country.

i guess it's all in the way you look at things.

The biggest problem is our failure to take full advantage of what we can offer to each other,” <

I would have thought the Americans are doing just that. Taking "advantage" of what Canada "offers". Canada is taking full advantage of selling everything to the Americans. The Americans are just taking more advantage.

Actually, our politicians are taking full advantage of our rich resource stores and selling us out to the US in order to line their pockets. Yes, most average Canadian and American people get along just fine. But the problems are at the top. Our sellouts, their bullies.

That's OK! In a trip I once took through the American West, they began not knowing where North Dakota was about Arkansas.......

    Which bring to mind this:

Sitting together on a train, traveling through the Canadian Rockies, were an American guy, a Canadian guy, a little old Greek lady, and a young blonde girl with large breasts.

The train goes into a dark tunnel and a few seconds later there is the sound of a loud slap. When the train emerges from the tunnel, the American has a bright red hand print on his cheek. No one speaks
    .
The old Greek lady thinks; The American guy must have groped the blonde in the dark & she slapped his cheek.

The blonde girl thinks; That American guy must have tried to grope me in the dark, but missed & fondled the old lady & she slapped his cheek.

The American thinks; The Canadian guy must have groped the blonde In the dark. She tried to slap him but missed & got me instead.

The Canadian thinks; I can't wait for another tunnel, just so I can smack the American again.

So what .... It's hard to find a country that doesn't have a tense relationship with the United States. The US is simply reaping what it is sowing.
