Judges Want Parity With Law Firms

Posted on Tuesday, July 27 at 08:31 by Jim Callaghan
If they want such wages, they should get out of the judge business. Period !! If the Prime Minister of Canada wants parity with CEO's of major corporations, then he shouldn't be in politics. I disagree with judges asking and getting such huge increases. (I thought we already had a thread on this topic, but a search didn't find one.) Your comment 'get out of the judge business' seems to indicate an ignorance of how judges get into the business - a star chamber of 'law firms' meet secretly and recommend thier choice to the Government who then appoints them to lifetime tenure to the bench.

Quid pro quo best describes the 'judges' request to have funds equal to those that 'installed' them on the bench - after all, the judge may owe them something, but on the other hand, the law firms have an 'insider' and if any of you reading this beleive that the 'insider' is impartial, well, reply directly to me and I will have my 'law firm' set up the sale for the many bridges I have in inventory.

What you're saying sounds just like any other "backroom" deal.

So much for respect for the law, lawyers and judges.
