Yeah but who cares. I want to get rid of the Liberal party, at any cost. I don't care how much worse things could get, it's time for a change (change = business as usual). Actually I WANT the Conservatives to get a majority, so they CAN dismantle everything with impuny. Maybe that's what people need to sit up & pay attention. It would cost a bit in the short-term, but the long-term benefits could be huge.

NSAY, you are scaring me, you want to see the cons in power to destroy what's left of this country so that people will wake up?? I think this little threat of Kleins might get a few people interested in the election, if they are listening or have a clue what it means to go against the Canada Health Act....the way it is being presented, charge the sick and therefore poor, reward healthy life styles, and therefore rich.

Makes perfect sense, it's the ole 'kick em when there down' policy, works everytime to decrease the population and increase the wealth. You gotta love this idea.

Oh and one more thing...quote from above:The Liberals are not perfect, but they won't be reckless with our ecnonomy

Why won't they be reckless in the future? Don't you consider wasting our money or allowing it to be funneled to their friends, reckless? I am thinking, HRDC, EI, Sponsorship, cutting Healthcare funding, Gun registry to name a few. Does an animal really change it's stripes? I don't think it can, a rabbit can change it's entire colour, but skunk no can do!

NSay has a point. Let's take a trip through the looking glass. <p> Canadians can be a powerful force when awoken. WWII woke us up. 9/11 got our attention for a while. HRDC ticked us off with their losing a billion of our dollars, then shortly thereafter because they wanted to create a 'super database' encompassing everything about your life in one place. But people forgot about it. Then another billion in the toilet to keep people safe from us duck hunters. Then the sponsorship thingie . . .and in a few months or a year people will forget about that too.<p> But! If in a year or two, they have to start paying $300 to $500 a month to a HMO to be able to see a doctor if you have a cough, perhaps they'll wake up, and start paying attention! And come this winter, with natural gas at $8.00 /GJ when people start getting $300 and $400 heating bills - then they'll pay attention to deregulation!<p> I've maintained for a while that we need a little border skirmish, such as what is going on with Denmark (just with more bullets) but with the US to get Canadians atuned to what is really going on. Then you'll get people's attention!<p> <p>---<br>"History does not repeat itself, but it does rhyme" Mark Twain <br />

Yikes you guys are really scaring me! 'Cause I think you are serious....and I have to agree to a point, I have never seen such apathy or just plain ignorance, and ignorance by itself is one thing but really in today's world, there is no need to be uninformed...so it then becomes just lazy....yuk!

I'll still vote NDP this time around, because voting is a very serious thing. Part of me though, thinks that the only way out is through. I think if the NDP does really well we'd only be delaying the inevitable. I think having a huge Conservative majority that will dismantle ruthlessly & with impuny in the short-term (~4yrs) will pay off in the long-term. It may scare "the rest" (NDP, Green, Hurtig, Orchard, etc) into setting aside partisan differences also and finally uniting against the dark forces of the Conservatives.

Funny thing. In the Star today there is an article that clearly states that Harper received a standing "O" on Bay St.

    Who's telling the truth ?

If the right-wing institutes are cramping Harper's style, doesn't that tell you something ?

I cannot believe that there is so much anger out there that the CONS may win this election. That is disgusting !

    Where are the brains ?

The Fraser Institute hasn't made any comment yet, but you better believe the Bush admin is rubbing it's hands in glee, waiting to see if Harper wins.

If that happens, get ready for Dubya calling the shots.

I warned you. Now the ball is in your court.

You`re right, Jim, and I`m VERY afraid! I honestly don`t know how people think. I see alot of people`s mentality being along the lines of 'My grandpa was a conservative, my dad was a conservative, and I`m a conservative.' I mean, I support the CAP, but if the CAP suddenly went goofy, I`d be switching to a party that resembled my political outlook.

You're right, Dave. Party loyalty is a problem, and a lot of voters seem to think it is ok.

Time will tell if things work out, and if they don't, well we will have to live in that new society.

I don't really understand how the electorate can be so loyal when the parties themselves are not the least
bit loyal, this has been the most blatant period of changing stripes I have ever seen. I would think people should be questioning everything, when you see all the rats jump off a ship, usually that is a sign. Guess people don't read signs too well anymore!
