Eyewitnesses Refute Official Story In Fatal Shooting Of Passenger At Miami Airpo

Posted on Saturday, December 10 at 16:03 by BC Mary
Witnesses to the killing relate that the extremely agitated man attempted to get off the flight, followed by his wife, who called out that her husband was sick and had not taken his medication. Alpizar’s wife, Anne Buechner, has since said that her husband suffered from bipolar disorder (or manic depression) and had not recently taken his medication. Passenger Alan Tirpak, 31, who was seated near the front of the aircraft, told the New York Daily News, “He didn’t say anything as far as I could hear.” Tirpak said he heard the man’s wife yelling to the marshals that he was “very sick,” before hearing shots ring out outside the plane’s door. Another passenger, Mary Gardner, told Associated Press, “I did not hear him say that he had a bomb.” She also said she heard Mrs. Buechner say of her husband, “He’s bipolar. He doesn’t have his medicine.” The Orlando Sentinel interviewed seven passengers who said Alpizar was silent as he bolted past them. “One thought he had taken the wrong flight. Another thought he was going to throw up,” the Sentinel reported. Jorge A. Borrelli, an Orlando architect, stated, “I can tell you, he never said a thing in that airplane. He never called out he had a bomb. He never said a word from the point he passed me at Row 9.... He did not say a word to anybody.” http://www.wsws.org/articles/2005/dec2005/miam-d10.shtml [Proofreader's note: this article was edited for spelling and typos on December 11, 2005]

My first thought when I heard about this shooting on the radio was "I wonder if the official story is going to be a crock and that we'll learn the dead man was absolutely innocent and really didn't do a damned thing to warrent being shot".

Well, I was half right, he was completely innocent. I still reserve judgement on the air-marshals until I learn more; I'm not willing to give them a free pass for every shooting but, you have to give them some benefit of the doubt simply due to the dangers involved.

A week or two more and we should have the full story.

    I forgot to mention:

I was reading the Vancouver Sun (CanWest) and they mentioned the British shooting. Now, as everyone in the freaking world knows, the "bulky winter jacket" lie was completely disproven by photographs and video, he was wearing a jean-jacket (Denim) that wasn't even buttoned up. Somehow, CanWest forgot that and this story (Friday I think), says the man was wearing a bulky winter jacket.

Just how freakin' stupid do the Aspers think Canadians are? I know we have the collective attention span of a gnat, but I do think (hope?) that most people will see that article and realize the CanWest is, yet again, reporting the spin, not the facts.

Oviously folks, it must be beyond the
    ethical/political restraints of the
    Bush administration to engineer, misrepresent
or hype an isolated event in order to
augment the fear climate and facilitate
    more dictatorial security measures and
    aggressive international meddling.

This event is terribly tragic and sad, whatever the circumstances. My heart goes out to the family. Equally sad and tragic is the state to which a once great nation and its allies have reduced themselves in just a few short years, willfully creating a climate in which this sort of thing is not only possible but defensible.

Perhaps most tragic and sad of all, at least for us here in Canada, is the manner in which our supposedly enlightened and compassionate leaders here at home push us to follow along the same lost road to ignomy and disgrace.

None of these tragedies, as heart wrenching as they may be, is as hard to understand as the fact that we, collectively and willingly follow that road, and reward those who take us there by returning them to power over us.

My poor old dad used to say sheep were the dumbest animals. Surely he was wrong; they just can't be as dumb as people are!

    Great dialogues of Plato

    The Republic Book VIII (564E-566C)

"When the Protector of the People finds a very obedient mob; when he will not obstain from shedding tribal blood; when he drags someone into court by the usual unjust accusations, and incurs bloodguilt by destroying the life of a man; when, with unholy mouth and tonue, he tastes a kinsman's gore; when he banises and executes, when he hints at abolition of debts and partition of estates surely for such a one the necessity is ordained that he must either perish at the hands of his enemies, or become a tyrant, and be a wolf instead of a man?"

"At first, in the early days, he greets everyone he meets with a broad smile; says he is no tyant, and promises all sorts of things in private and in public, frees them from debts and parcels out the land to the people and to those about him, pretends to be gracious and friendly to all the world."

"As to outside enemies, when he has made terms with some and destroyed others, I take it, and when all is quiet from that source, he is forever stirring up some war in order that the people may want a leader."

"And moreover, in order that they may become poor by having to pay taxes, and stick to their daily round, and be less likely to plot against him."

Sounds like Bush in alot of ways?

    The Republic Book VIII (564E-566C)*

Certainly not from the book "War and Peace". There is no honor in what we see in the US today. In Viet Nam they used a feeble excuse for the invasion. Who would have thought they (the USA) would do it again with no excuse. Joseph McCarthy would be just a minor in todays Bush league.

    >>I just can't please some people, no matter how many hours of my day I put in here.<<<<

I feel the same way. :-D

If I were you I just wouldn't take this disrespect any longer. Surely there are other ways you could better spend your time then this thankless task, only to be subjected to bitching and whining from those that you have humbly and graciously endeavored to serve. :-D

Seriously, If doing something good for Canada is the motivation then you are in the wrong place.

Oh please! If you don't like the way the site works then volunteer to help do the work. I think the fact that another public execution is being whitewashed would deter you from criticizing Dr C for over exposing this gross negative. Don't let those who slam their fingers in the fridge door and then dis you get you down Dr C.
