The Guardian publishes an excellent article from the Director of the BBC following the conflict of interest the BBC got itself into when it supported Blair's government heading to Iraq. It would appear that proper measures have been taken to protect the public broadcaster from political interference.
I look forward to seeing the same done at the CBC/SRC, which is often modeled after the BBC.
This article is essentially the same one above Galois submitted about SRC and Adscam implying that the CBC/SRC had engaged in some form of government coverup. As in the previous article, the CBC/SRC is a corporation wholely independent from government except for funding. You should get your facts straight.
What makes the BBC so fundamentally different from the CBC/SRC??? Did the Brits not claim too that the BBC was a corporation wholely independent from government except for funding? They painfully found otherwise when some investigative reporter of the BBC found out that the evidence of WMD was most dubious.
Are the Corps too not claiming that their board of Directors is wholely independent???
