Arar Apology Will Wait: MacKay

Posted on Tuesday, October 31 at 11:04 by jensonj
"I don't want to jeopardize or compromise the legal standing of Mr. Arar or any other government," he said following a speech to a foreign policy think-tank. "To that extent the issues of apology will be dealt with in the future." A lawsuit filed by Arar's Canadian lawyers was put on hold months ago, pending the results of Justice Dennis O'Connor's public inquiry. http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Canada/2006/10/30/pf-2175980.html

How weird. Is Peter MacKay (as a Canadian) now apologizing for why the Americans cannot at this time apologize?

Does this mean that some kind of apology may still be forthcoming, but only once these court cases are over?

MacKay the lapdog is doing a stall. Wait long enough and the whole affair will be forgotten.

And he's actually dumb enough to believe it will work.

What is never discussed, is that both sides in this fake conflict have the exact same "rendition" policies, and that both sides are just as guilty as the other of committing the exact same offenses.

Security certificates constitutional: court

I look at this "apology" charade as more of the same deception and hypocrisy that got us into the mess we're all currently bathing in.

MacKay is just putting off the apologee until the Cons are out of office. Everybody knows the Government dropped the ball here. Delaying an apology only serves to lower public trust.

After all, Peter Mac didn't apologize for allegedly calling his EX-MAIN SQUEEZE a pooch, he's going to apologize to some guy he doesn't give two hoots about? As this country's official lap dog spokesperson, one can't help but wonder if this canine comment was just a jilted pot calling the kettle black?

They are concerned about how much it will cost them now or the cost of the apology later. The trial will determine how $orry they are. If it is ruled that no government can be held responsible then a heart felt "We're sorry, now go away" at most. If both are held responsible then a negotiation will take place as to how $orry they become. Both governments made the rules and Arar may be lucky if he don't end up paying the court costs. Of course the "undisclosed amount" will always be a secret. Arar must be nervous about getting another paid vacation. The public will forget him as soon as he and his family are no longer in the public eye.

It's just all to funny, (the Mckay + Stronach affair). It reminds me of highschool. I am surprised Belinda hasn't spread rumours that Pete gave her ghonorea or scribbled insults on his locker at the HOC. Did you catch the Rick Mercer report last night? That guy deserves the order of Canada! He did a skit on "Peter McKay" brand dog food. LOL! I was ROF.
But back to the subject... I guess we'll have to rely on someone to tell us when the court proceedings are over so that we can say "Hey Steve, Hey Geo, how about those apologies now!". Let's see who could we get to do that? How about the MSM, they have our best interest at heart. *gag - choke - puke*.
