Hillier Has "No Regrets" Over Detainees

Posted on Monday, March 12 at 10:12 by 4Canada
Defence Minister Gordon O'Connor recently announced that Canada has asked the Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission to monitor detainees handed over to Afghan authorities. Unlike Britain and the Netherlands, Canada did not retain the right to verify that detainees transferred to Afghan custody are being properly treated. Mr. O'Connor planned to meet with Abdul Qadar Noorzai, head of the human rights commission, in Kandahar today, but meeting fell through because Mr. Noorzai was unavailable. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20070312.whillier0312/BNStory/International/home

Only he lied to begin with. The Red Cross contradicted him when he blatantly told Canadians that the Red Cross was monitering the prisoners and reporting it to the Canadian military. The Red Cross had no choice but to publically deny it. Hillier therefore states he was going to Afghanistan to discuss it( prisoner monitoring) with dignitaries there. No one was around to talk to him because nothing was arranged. This our man, who is giving us the update on our invasion of another country.
