"I think when you look at the development of natural resources, everyone wants to make sure that there's all sorts of benefits. There's lots of responsibilities that come with that, the protection of the environment, ecosystems, as well as efficient and effective management of those resources. It's not different, it's just a bit clearer, and real language that actually means something," Ms. Welford said. "It's nothing to get too excited about."
As the Natural Resources Department drafts a long-term strategic report, all uses of "sustainability" or "sustainable development" have been replaced with "responsible development," The Hill Times is hearing. It was also suggested to The Hill Times that the change in terminology crossed several departments, but communications officers in both the PMO and Environment Canada said they were not aware of any such changes.
"I think it's fair to say that this is a new government and people expect us to do things differently than what came before," Ms. Welford said.
The word sustainability has a deep environmental connotation and generally means meeting the needs of a population without taking a lasting, negative toll on the environment...

"Sustainability" is a physical concept and definition that can not be altered with fancy word twisting and applies equally to any and everybody.
On the other hand "responsibility" can not be defined, because it can refer to any sector, or concept a ruling sector decides.
E.g. "Responsibility" in the free trade treaties means ever increasing, untouchable profits for multinationals. This is what Chapter 11 is about, while leaving all other "responsibilities" like environmental, or human, at the discreation of the ruling sector.
The old "defenders of the faith" gimmick that killed and destituted millions to make a few rich. Now it is called wealth creation everybody must subscribe to, or else .....

"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music." Friedrich Nietzsche
Aztec priests were "responsible" to their gods by killing thousands with obsidian knives and throwing their still beating hearts into stone towers to rot, while the Conquistadores also "responsible" for stopping and then
enslaving them by branding the letter "P", for "pagan" on their foreheads in the name of the "real god". As are now suicide bombers killing others in the name of Allah.
I would say, the most misused word in human history, in every language, is "free....." ...whatever and "responsibility" comes close.
The word "responsibility" can only be applied to special sectors, people, concepts, ideologies, imaginary money use, etc. etc. A person may be responsible, or demanded to be, to his family, company, the environment, religion....etc. , where each sector has different, often contradicting demands.
So which comes first, what does the word mean in the overall sense ? Nothing. A person could be "responsible" by stealing food for his, or her, starving children, while the store detective also "responsible" for catching him.
In the case of so called "conservatives", responsibility may mean the profitability of a certain sector, while destroying
the environment and humanity. We have lots of examples in our daily lives of such contradictions, mostly caused by ideologies and religions.
On the other hand physical laws are equally applicable to every situation, religion and person, so, it is obvious that ideologial hucksters want to ignore them, until they come back and knock them to hell.
Now, what do our knowledgeable "free enterprisers" say? Are physical laws part of some "leftie conspiracy" to rob the high and mighty of their "freedoms" ?
