Economist Longs For Creation Of Amero

Posted on Saturday, January 26 at 16:02 by Anonymous
The resulting increase in Dutch exports caused a strong appreciation of exchange rates which in turn caused the loss of Dutch manufacturers' ability to compete abroad with their imports. Grubel noted in Europe the problem was solved when the euro eliminated national currencies, forcing all countries to operate under interest rates set by the European Central Bank. "The analogous creation of the amero is not possible without the unlikely co-operation of the United States," said Grubel, an economics professor emeritus at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia. Instead, Grubel called upon Canada to create a new Canadian dollar to replace the loonie. The new currency could be valued at par with the U.S. dollar, with the possibility that the Bank of Canada might peg the new Canadian dollar to $0.90 on the U.S. dollar. "The public would readily use the new Canadian and the U.S. dollars interchangeably and enjoy savings in the conversion of one currency into the other," he wrote. "The present exchange risk premium on Canadian interest rates would be eliminated completely." http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=59832

Ed Deak should be particularly interested in this, dealing as it does with two of his favorite subjects -- economists and NAU...............

Professor Emeritus of the SFU and Fraser Inst. illuminati, fascist ideology soaked Herbie is an economic disaster area.

A former Reform MP during Manning's heydays, he once declared on TV: " No country can afford universal healthcare". The rest of his economic ideas are on this same intellectual level.

His statements remind me of my 3 postwar years, as a "verfluchte Auslander", in his native Austria, when all I could hear was how good they had it under Hitler.

Herbie may have been too young to remember much of those glorious Hitler times, but the tradition must have permeated his growing years.

In any case, his idiocies are also a good example of the thinking of his fellow Reform Party/economist masterminds by the names of Harper and Emerson, indicating what we can expect from them.

The spiel will again be the same, as it was during the FTA propaganda years: "wealth creation through borderless shopping, increased exports of our resources, security from the war on terror, etc. goodies"

Unfortunately, most people may even fall for this fraud.

    Ed Deak.

Gruebel, like the other right-whiners hates this country with a passion and can't do enough to pimp us to the Evil Empire to the South. He is a Quisling, pure and simple, like his buddy the Harpocrit.

I get so desperately tired of people talking about a "strong Canadian dollar". Can't people see anything except the US?

The Canadian dollar has not gotten stronger the US dollar is in a disastrous nosedive driven by the US economic and industrial problems many linked to globalization.
