Canada's Chemical Reaction

Posted on Monday, May 29 at 13:41 by 4Canada
The chemicals needing review were culled from a list of 23,000 substances grandfathered from a detailed safety study because they were in widespread commercial use before Canada adopted its first comprehensive pollution legislation, the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, in 1988. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20060526.wxchemicals27/BNStory/specialS

The solution: Ban the stuff. Back to basics. And then we should all live as far distant from the US border as we can - not because we are anti-American in any way, (as the webmaster stated so succinctly), but because that is where most of these unsafe chemicals come from. Part of it of course as airborne junk (see the article on "chemtrails") or because many of these substances are used in products made by Canadian subsidiaries of US corporations. (Likely the bulk of them.)

But hey, there's one possible advantage of global warming. Northern Alberta will haver a mild climate. Let's make use of it.

More seriously, I am glad that Canada is taking the lead. Example: I am amazed how many people in the US still use aluminum cookware - that has been banned in Canada for a long time. And that it is still possible to buy frenol for older air conditioners.
