Is Canada Shifting Hard Right?

They led the way in driving most of the industrialized world into a conservative vortex that saw an ascendancy by the corporate world which would have made Mussolini weep for joy; we called him a fascist, he considered he was a corporatist.

I don't think Canadians are shifting to the right. A cursory glance at any Ipsos-Reid poll is all that one needs to see that people favour public services delivered by people accountable to elected representatives rather than private corporations; they don't think we should be signed on to any "trade" deal that allows foreign corporations to set domestic policy, etc etc. Just because people DON'T support one party doesn't mean they DO support the other one. I don't know what the numbers are but I would say that people just want to vote the Liberals out, they don't necessarily want to vote the Conservatives in.
