    1. Here in Toronto, we have had many New Flyer buses over the year, and they\'ve been very good in general.

    2. ORION is another big Canadian bus-maker, and they are located in Mississauga, Ontario. Also very good. Orion also signed a deal with New York City to provide them with 350 Diesel-hyrbid buses, as they were so impressed with them.

We CAN\'T let these companies keep doing this. Is Orion next? What about Bombardier?!! These soulless investors are killing our research and development, as well as our spirit.

One question: are these HOSTILE TAKEOVERS, or are these just soulless, Canadian sellouts.

Reminds me of the recent news Re: Alliance Atlantis, closing all Canadianproductions, as there is \"Little market\" for Canadian products. Remember, Canada: A People\'s History. Ratings up there with the Grey Cup Game.

....Perhaps there\'s actually no market for \"BAD\" Canadian products. Maybe if they invested more than 2 cents in the crap they produce, we wouldn\'t get laughed at.

Hostile takeover or Canadian sellout? both, maybe they\'re even the same thing.

They are not the same thing. The business I work for was Canadian owned. An American company came in to our market (Western Canada) and dropped the market price of things below where we were profitable. Now they are buying us for cheap. The owner, who spent 30 years of his life building this company has no say.<p> That is not the same as selling a company willingly.<p> <p>---<br>"History does not repeat itself, but it does rhyme" Mark Twain

Believe it or not, G.M., the American automaker, made excellent buses in the 1970s that Toronto STILL uses as part of its fleet. (circa 1977)

(They have rebuilt a lot, but don\'t rust as badly as some newer buses, though others are probably better.

(Most American cities replace buses every 8-12 years. The GM buses are 26 years old.....heh)

Good to see Paul Martin is cutting everything that keeps people healthy, to \"Give\" to health care funding....OH, and a mere 4.4. billion for corporate tax cuts.

Goodbye: 100 million Canadian history museum

    700 million Via upgrades,

CFL add funding, and so forth.

But these business that rip us off and lay us off get 4.4 billion....stimulate the economy my ass.

We get the government we deserve, and the services to boot !!

We voted for them. (Not me, but the majority/minority)

The ONLY way OUT is to turf them out of power, but I fear we don\'t have another major party to replace them.

The NDP is not strong enough.

    Cap is not strong enough.

The Green party is not strong enough.

Does anyone see a picture here ??

Get it together, people, or just give up.

The problem is most Canadians seem unaware our country is being sold out from underneath us. If more people knew what was going on it would be easier to mobilize.

Let us say someone like Jack Layton wins the next election. Do you think he would put a cap on foreign ownership?

Yes, but he\'s at 15% in the polls.

Not a chance, not even for a minority government.

That is what a poll says today, but there is time and the true poll is the one on election day! Inform, talk about it, get the truth out anyway we can and maybe we will make a difference, let us not give up, just because of a poll...the polls mean very little in reality.

True, there is hope. Three months before the civic
elections in Vancouver no one would have dreamed of
a COPE majority, especially the media who refused to
    endorse any COPE candidates.

Layton needs to really focus on the new Conservatives
being nothing more than the Alliance, and attack Martin
and his corporate connections. He needs to start his
election campaign now. He could also use a few more
    high profile candidates.
