Jack Layton's Letter To Bush

Posted on Tuesday, November 30 at 09:01 by sthompson
I share those concerns, and believe it crucial you be aware of them. Ideally, I hope your administration heeds the world's concerns and rejoins multilateral efforts on common problems. I continue to hope this is possible, but in the event it is not, hope Canada will respectfully disagree with those policies that are at odds with our values, while maintaining the valuable friendship between our countries.

On Canada Tonight last night they said he'll meet with Harper for about an hour in private, and with Jack Layton - only at a social gathering. No private time for Jack.

Most premiers will be at the social gathering at the Musum of Civilization tonight.

Seems to me that Jack's letter does nicely for Vive's mission statement. To think, there are still people that are going to vote Liberal as the 'good' vote. All the people that are barking that we need a new party should take a step back and think: 'maybe we should just be voting for a new party, a New Democratic Party'!!!

    IMHO of course!

Jack was very PC, but to me his political correctness verges on half-heartedness. I guess he'd rather not offend anyone, but his meekness annoys me. I hope he'll become more vocal later.

Come on though...he hasn't backed down yet, what makes you think he will?

    But...

    I agree he is PC.

It's the world of politics and politicians, PC is how you 'fight the system from the inside.' He couldn't be more direct than he is being, unless you want another Carolyn Parrish?

I agree Jack Layton should speak up. I mean it's always wise to insult the leader of a country that buys 85% of your products and supports you through thick and thin.

Jack Layton and NDP will do a great service to Canada... just as the NDP has done a great service to BC in the past. It seems odd that Conservative Ontario and Alberta seem to be doing better off than the socialist provinces. Here's a crazy idea... maybe NDP policies prohibit business growth and therefore reduce jobs.

Call me out of touch, but when did this country become absolutley stupid?

I agree Robert, I think Jack is a politician, with all the makings of a great leader, he is polite when necessary, agressive when necessary, the perfect diplomat and we could certainly use a few!
