Greenhouse Gas Emissions Down

Alberta reported an increase of 5.8 per cent and Quebec was up a modest 0.9 per cent, but all other provinces showed reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. These emissions represent about one-third of Canada's total greenhouse gas emissions, which have levelled off between 2003 and 2005, said Cheng. But she cautioned not to read too much into these positive short-term results since the long-term results are "not very good."
