Ontairo Calls For Land Mine Registry

Posted on Tuesday, August 07 at 10:25 by drcaleb
Unsure if more mines are hidden nearby, Strathroy police asked the OPP to conduct a sweep. It was to have been done by dusk yesterday. The creek is popular with families, so police suspect the mines were put there to maim and kill, or in callous disregard of that possibility. "The senseless loss of life or grievous bodily harm that could have taken place at this creek -- it's reprehensible," Strathroy-Caradoc police Sgt. Mike Overdulve said. http://lfpress.ca/newsstand/News/Local/2007/08/05/4394888-sun.html [Yes, I'm being cheeky with the title. How often does the Ontario government propose to ban handguns and other things out of their jurisdiction, anyway? Odds are, no one was in danger from these mines, unless they had a mass over 300kg, they couldn't have triggered them. This story smells like pure bullshit.

There is no mention if the mines were "live". Sure there was a blast, but was it from the mines or from the explosives used to detonate the mines?

How would anyone manage to get a hold of these land mines, and why would they place the mines in a creek????

The story makes no sense at all, unless the point of the operation is to frighten the public from an unseen force of evil terrorists.

....or to prime the Ontario public for "terror" activities, and the concommitant restrictions government just love to impose.
"Question Everything" comes readily to mind.........
