I will send you a copy of the Senate testimony I was going to give and a note re how we must turn our attention to the terrible dangers of nuclear proliferation and the Bush/Rumsfeld plans to weaken the Non-Proliferation Treaty at the big New York Conference in May, and how we can ensure Canada leads the way in preventing the weaponization of space. Could somebody clarify why Mel will not be participating again? Is it because we won?

A few of those poli scientists at the U of M may be pretty conservative but they are damn nice people and awesome teachers. And they welcome opposing viewpoints in seminar.

So Mel, is your next stop China or Iran or Pakistan or North Korea or Brazil or Russia? You know, actual countries that are actually trying to make nuclear weapons that will fly through space. Are you going to whine and whinge at the Kremlin or in Beijing?

I'll answer for you because it's such an easy answer: NO

Mel doesn't have the balls for that sort of thing, no Canadian activists or political figures have the balls for that sort of thing. It's easy to turn Canada and its people and politicians into a bunch of suckers for the hollow words and rhetoric of people like Mel Hurtig, but nobody outside of this country takes Canadians seriously at all.

Thanks to people like Mel promoting Canadian hypocrisy, Canada isn't worthy of being taken seriously at all. This is a shameful period for Canada, it's almost a good thing that the country will be torn apart in the next few years under the weight of the hypocrisy of our one-party state. Oh well.

You keep using the word 'hipocrisy'. I don't think it means what you think it means, Delenda. For a good definition, see: "Mirror".

actually the indisputable fact is that china has been the most influential force at the UN to try to prevent the weaponisation of space, at least if the american academy of arts & sciences is anything to go by. i'm not sure if that matters or not to some people; some people just want to believe things.

    Challenge:

The story went out on the reuters newswire. Are there any readers who
regularly access foreign media--from papers of record to blogs to forums
like Vive? Was the story picked up? What was the reaction?

I found a couple in France, Germany and New Zealand. Basically the same Reuters story reprinted. No reaction.

Others are quoting the sniviling little liar in Rice - "We are not amused with Canada..." or some such BS.

    We are not their bitch.

We can tank the NDP and the Bloc for defeating the neocon attempt to drag us into Star Wars. You can be sure that if the Libs were in the majority they would pander...

I think we, ( all the folks who wrote and wrote and wrote and ....), may have had something to do with their decision, all the letters and emails to the politicians and the praise for Carolynn Parrish for taking a stand, etc. Don't sell our collective efforts short.

You are absolutely right. However, I was not trying to sell us short, only pointing out how the opposition political parties played a role. Certainly all the individual actions put the fire under the political parties that opposed Star Wars.

Canada is trying to kick France out of the leadership role in the Axis of Weasels. Talking out of both sides of your mouth and being a consummate Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey is just a start.

You brownshirts just can't admit you are in the minority. Clue in already - all your racist bullshit changes none of that. In fact, it only shows the futility and stupidity of your backwards stance. All hail the logic of the brownshirts!

Admin - don't remove the trolls post - it shows clearly the thinking of those that support missile defence - and more so - just why it was soundly defeated.

    I agree Milton.
