From February of 2006 until this past December, more than 6,300 homeowners had their homes audited for possible improvements.
Of those audits, 4,500 took place in 2007 alone. The end goal is to annually inspect 5,000 homes.
Thanks to the resulting upgrades, there was an average savings of 5.09 tonnes of greenhouse gases per house - the largest reduction in Canada.
Energy Minister Jack Keir says local programs are the talk of his counterparts across the country.
"We should be pretty proud of what we've been doing here and where we're going with this," he said.
