A Liberal government would not be good, but it would not be nearly as destructive as a Conservative government-now a real possibility. We must now brace for the possibility that even a liberal-NDP coalition might not be enough to beat back a conservative-bloc coalition. That may not mean the conservative social agenda will get pushed through, but the effect of the coalition on federalism will be devastating. Canada under a conservative-bloc coalition would make Switzerland look like a unitary state (Switzerland is arguably the world's most decentralised federal state). It's questionable if there will be much of a federal government left when they're done gutting Ottawa. God forbid the Conservatives get a slim majority, in which case there will be no way to stop their retrograde agenda from being imposed on Canadians.
Maybe a Conservative majority is desireable. Let them do their thing for 4-5 years, Canadians will see what they are really about, they will be disgusted and appalled and will vote them out of existence in the next federal election and we'll be done with them once and for all.
