Tom Kent, a long-time federal Liberal, says it's time to reform our outdated and leaky tax system.
He would like to see lottery winnings taxable, and get rid of all the loopholes that protect the wealthy.
Nobody is saying they should pay more than their share, but by broadening the tax base, we would all pay less taxes. The poorest would pay no tax at all.
Think about it: a person with an income of $8,000 per year, still has to pay income tax.
That really makes a lot of sense.
