Harper platform sidesteps divisive issues, but hasn't been approved by members

Even if Conservative leader Stephen Harper emerges victorious in the election, some insiders suggest he could soon face a fight within his own party to deliver on his campaign promises.

Mr. Harper finds himself in a unique situation: he is fighting the election on a platform cobbled together by party officials, but which hasn't yet received the sanction of the membership and sidesteps some potentially troublesome issues.
