Even as drug makers promise to support Washington’s health care overhaul by shaving $8 billion a year off the nation’s drug costs after the legislation takes effect, the industry has been raising its prices at the fastest rate in years.

This plainly goes to show that the price of drugs has nothing to do with R&D costs, as so many apologists for these (legal) drug cartels have insisted over the years.


Furthermore, it becomes grounds to break any patents pending or that have accrued, to go ahead and produce generic versions of those drugs covered by the public purse.
