Direct Access Democracy Canada 2004 Electoral Platform - Public Policy by the People, for the People

The core of any real democratic system is the Peoples’ right to choose - the only factor that controls the ambitions of power of those who want to impose their will on the majority of citizens; When democracy operates as intended the People as a whole are the only authority to make decisions regarding important public policy.

Today our democracy is tragically flawed. The elites of political parties have manipulated the resource at their disposal every time they got to power, using their position, our tax money and the federal budgets as a gigantic payoff system for the interests and organizations that contribute to their campaigns. This is what is called …government by the Few.

The result is a disheartened and angry public; a public that is so disillusioned with the politics as usual that decides in great numbers to stay home on Election Day, the only day when democracy is really working. Another result is that public policy is dictated by special interest and not by the interest of the People. This is what is called …government for the Few.

The 2004 Electoral Platform of Direct Access Democracy Canada is directed to establish in Canada Public Policy by the People, for the People.

Unlike traditional parties, we welcome direct participation of ordinary citizens in governing by proposing, perfecting and adopting important public policy regarding of your personal political orientation (liberal, conservative, new-democrat, green). We not only speak about the virtues of democracy, we will actually practice it every day. We not only desire democratic and electoral reform, we will support these reforms as the core of our effort to restore Public choice and accountability. And, we will support only those candidates who are committed to follow the will of the People from the communities they represent.
