Toro wrote: Diogenes wrote: I called Bull Shit on 'Canadians exaggerate to establish an identity ' Show us the proof to back up your claim My proof is living 10 years in the United States, a year in England and traveling extensively through Europe. There are all sorts of examples of Canadians exaggerating the differences. The biggest is Medicare. Ask a Canadian what it means to be a Canadian and nine times out of ten, they'll say "Medicare." Okay, since Medicare is only about 40 years old, what did it mean to be Canadian before then? And how does that make Canada different from almost every other industrialized country on earth? It doesn't. It only does if you define yourself vis-a-vis the United States. Canadians emphasize Medicare because it differentiates us from Americans, not because it is a uniquely Canadian thing. But that's not unexpected. Given that Canada was borne and defined in part because of the United States, that America so dominates the continent, and that the peoples are so similar, its not surprising Canadians would do so. Thank you for the insights to how you think. It is as I expected . You have ne empirical (hard) data to support your claim, only so called personal experience. What I was looking for, and found, was the quality of your thinking. You might get by with sloppy thinking at what ever other site you visit and post on but you won't get away with that stuff here. For anyone to even consider the drivel you use in place of thinking would most likely be done solely as entertainment because using your quotes post above as a guide what ever else could it be. But because I am benevolent I will supplly you with a critical thing site so you might beable to get up to speed, that is if you are a quick study. C:\Documents and Settings\My Computer\My Documents\Critical thinking\CriticalThinking_org - Strategy List 35 Dimensions of Critical Thought.mht up to now all you have shown us is your ability to regurgate what you've been force-fed by the state apparatus.
