MURRAY DOBBIN writes:

"With no mandate to do so, [Harper] would dismantle the work of three generations of Canadians in building a decent, if far from egalitarian, society.

He would, for starters, gut and or sell off the CBC.

He would repeal the Canada Health Act and open the Medicare system to massive privatization and balkanization.

He would, as quickly as he could, further gut the spending powers of the federal government with more destructive and ill-considered tax cuts for the wealthy and for Canada's corporate welfare bums.

He would rapidly devolve power to the provinces, balkanizing the country and its egalitarian approach to social programs.

Our foreign policy would be made in Washington and our energy and environmental policies would be made in Alberta. More billions would be poured into making our military a war-fighting adjunct to the U.S. war machine. (If you think Obama is going to dismantle the American Empire, think again.)

None of this will ever be part of a Harper election platform. But it is what he would do. [...]

Harper is a right-wing revolutionary manipulating a democratic system, which he detests for what it has produced: a pluralistic society, an activist state and a compassionate society."

A must read absolutely!

But don't stop there! Follow these steps:

    bring it up for discussions around the kitchen table with family;

    share with friends and neighbours [see below for a few pointers];

    print out and photocopy and distribute it in your neighbourhood;

    email the link to everyone including the media.

Speaking for myself and my family: We do not have an organizational machine at our disposal. We do not have the media in our pockets. We cannot advertise on TV and the radio. We do not have pundits out there to sell our ideas. We do not have the backing of the special corporatocratic or the theocratic power dealers. But what we DO have are passion and determination! Starting today, we SHALL do our utmost to scrape an hour or two in our daily schedule and follow in Murray Dobbin's footsteps by becoming Word Warriors for Canada!

------------
Some pointers on sharing with friends & neighbours

    Drop photocopies of the column in your neighbours' mailboxes (nearby or around the whole block);

    Add an eye catching button or banner to your blog that links to Murray's column;

    Cut what you think may help from this post and paste into your own Word Warrior for Canada blogpost;

    Use all the technological bells and whistles that you know of to spread the word;

    Be creative and build your own personal Word Warrior for Canada campaign and share your ideas and insights with us either by leaving a comment below or through some other means that you think would be more efficient.

So now the house of commons has become the house of prorogees.
Other parliamntary systems have commonly been run by coalitions .In Canada that would give us a government representing 62% of the population rather than 38%.
Time that became part of our political tradition.
