I would like to take a moment to congratulate a gentleman and regular contributor to Vive on reaching yet another milestone in his amazing journey through life. That he, almost 20 years my senior, continues to use this “new fangled” means of communications called the internet to disseminate so much common sense and important views is testament to his adaptability learned through so many years at the school of life. Would that I am even half as “sharp” as Ed when (if!) I reach his age!

Ed, you have both my respect and my best wishes on your 81st birthday, I trust that you and your wife will celebrate similar anniversaries for many more years to come. Congratulations!

Note – I could not find a suitable forum to post this under so put it under “economics” as that is Ed’s area of interest……….

Indeed, a Happy Birthday, Ed.

The males in my family typically don't make it to your age, though I personally, beyond age 70, am aspiring to 80. (Providing good health and mind. Otherwise, what's the point?)

It's a good age, and you demonstrate the fact that we DO learn throughout our whole life, and in fact, barring dementia or some other intrusion, we do continue to get smarter the longer we live.

That I should have it together as much as yourself brother, make I it to your current age. YOU, of course, are going to live much longer yet... is our hope for you. Like I have already said to you on another occasion, the world and we have need of you yet, your mind and what you have learned.

Live long, brother.
