They used the dropping value of the CDN dollar as an excuse to adopt the US $. Now they want to use the rising CDN$ as an excuse to adopt the US$. How stupid to they think we are? Such suggestions are an insult to all Canadians. Giving up a dollar based on a small debt and very healthy economy to adopt one with a huge debt and failing economy would be incredibly stupid, like buying tickets on the Titanic , after she hit the iceberg. Unfortunately I don't believe we will have much say in the matter. Whatever changes that are to occur have already been planned well in advance. It will be presented to the citizens in a nice neat package and the masses will fall to their knees and embrace it.

To give up a currency with as little debt attached to it as the CDN$, in exchange for a currency with the huge debt incurred by the US military , would amount to forcing Canadian taxpayers to pay the debts of the US military, in terms of our international purchasing power.Lets never fail to point this out whenever anyone suggests adoption of the US dollar.<br /> Brent Swain
