"Pardon? Does Brigette DePape forget some of the most glorious events in 800 years of Parliamentary history? Has she spent too much time in present parliamentary chambers where pomp, ceremony, protocol, rank, hierarchy, and rules anaesthetize even the most dedicated lover of democracy?"

Ms. DePape recognizes, albeit grudgingly, that the Tories are the legitimately elected government of Canada. It is she, not you, who is respecting democracy. You would be the first to complain of business interests or "reactionaries" trying to disrupt an NDP government. How is what you're proposing in terms of "civil disobedience" any different than that? You want to disrupt the functioning of government because you didn't get your way in the last election.

"I dont want to draw attention to myself in this piece."

Insert appropriate quote from Act III, scene II of Hamlet here.

"No one (except the paid media and brain-dead reactionaries) denies that the Stephen Harper forces seriously endanger Canadian democracy, Canadian independence, and the freedom of ordinary Canadians."

You write off a large number of Canadians as "brain-dead reactionaries". Of course, under our system, they still get a vote, as much as that fact obviously dismays you.

"No one denies he wants to wrench Canadian democracy from its foundation and create what is, in fact, a neo-fascist Canada."

I believe a majority of Canadians, including many who did not vote for and do not support Harper, would "deny" your assertion above. Who elected you (or Ms. DePape) by the way?

Calling what Harper wants "neo-fascism" misses the mark. What Harper wants is as old as the hills, and far older than Fascism. He wants to resurrect an oligarchy. It's as simple as that. Of course, we've been heading that way for some time now. Whether one wants to blame "business interests", or "voter apathy", or "greed", or "ignorance" is irrelevant. I tend to blame inertia, or Newton's First Law of Motion. Or "no pain, no gain" - and we've been eschewing pain for some time now........
