Title: Canadians still paying more for goods than Americans
Topic: Economy

CTV News Staff
Canadians continue to pay significantly more for consumer goods than Americans, despite a high-flying loonie that is expected to float higher than the greenback for months to come.
A new analysis by a Bank of Montreal economist predicts that the Canadian dollar will remain above par until at least the end of 2012, if not longer.
The BMO report authored by Douglas Porter says "Canadians should get accustomed to a lofty loonie," which will restrain inflation and dampen the prices of imported goods.
But the climbing currency has yet to close a price gap with the United States, which may leave Canadians scratching their heads as to why they have to pay more for the same consumer items.

The Loonie will have to double the Yankee dollar for us to approach par in goods.

Yeah, remember the excuses that existed before? Like, our dollar is only worth 60 cents US therefore costs are going to be higher. This is yet another example of how this whole world banker-controlled economy is FAKE! Just like, everyone else has to tighten their belts during these 'tough economic times' due to job losses and austerity and all that bullshit, but something like- oh, I don't know, the Detroit Red Wings, who have been having a hard time selling tickets last couple years due to their dismal local economy, have not told their hockey players that they should take a pay cut. Oh no! They still get raises upon their already million dollar salaries for work (ha ha) that has no productive value added benefit whatsoever!

We don't have to have $5.00 Subway sandwiches. We still remember that you can make your own.
Like we do when we find every food joint here "not participating" and it's $12.99

Europeans have said the price of gas there hasn't risen much, due to the fact that oil is priced in US dollars, and Euros have risen against the US$,at roughly the same rate as oil has. So has the Canadian dollar, where the oil comes from. The problem is we have an "oil industry owned" Prime Minister.
Hopefully, that will change somewhat, today.

Just picked up a new Magazine called simply "Jiu Jitsu" Price $6.99US , $6.99 Canadian. High time ! An excellent read , only technique , no hype or promotion of stars.
Being a new magazine probably set the relaistic pricing.
