Canada joined the effort in March when NATO launched a mission to protect civilians from attack by troops loyal to former dictator Moammar Gadhafi.
"Canada was there from the very beginning, as you know. Canada has never shirked its responsibility and certainly should not do so now," MacKay said.

Canada's mission in Libya has cost an estimated $60-million. What an easy way to shovel money to one's friends and backers! And wrap one's self in the flag while doing it.

Besides, this is the McKay who spent aboout $50G of taxpayer money just to get home from a fishing trip. As one letter writer in the Globe & Mail queried: how did all his fishing buddies get home from that same trip?
