There is a crisis in native housing? Lets see, they have a high youth employment, a problem of a surplus of labour, are surrounded by the biggest supply of wood on the planet and they need houses. Duuuhhhh!!!

How do you propose that they build adequate housing for themselves when the knowledge they would have traditionally used to do that has been taken away from them?

I was gonna say what a feking dumb comment, but then I thought about it and decided to thank you for it.
With comments like that, you're actually helping to destroy the old stereotype about only white people being racist.

Read the book " Builders of the Pacific Coast " by Lloyd Kahn, for some true building genius. Send crews described in this book up there, along with some portable mills, to train local crews, who could go from reserve to reserve to train others, independent of Ottawa and the mindless consumerism ( squanderism) bureaucrats they impose on people. Bureaucrats would strongly oppose that. They would claim "It will never work", as it would inevitably prove them totally irrelevant. The lumber they send up there comes from BC, into one of the biggest wood supplies on the planet, after traveling thousands of miles, at great expense. Kinda like spending millions of tax dollars on sending ice to Greenland. They send totally junk lumber, knowing it will never be sent back. And they accuse first nations of wasting tax dollars?. A friend featured in this book, said "Hire an architect and I'm out of here."
