Title: The Conservative plan for the permanent election
Written By: NAUWATCH
Date: Friday, May 13 at 09:13
By Duncan Cameron
Stephen Harper had the 2011 election won before the writ was dropped. All he had to do to win the most seats was not lose popularity during the campaign.
Harper won the May 2 election through months of expenditures of public money prior to the election making fraudulent claims about a Canadian Economic Recovery, though it was clear to keen observers that the economy still needed to recover.

Ontario-ans just plain got scared that they would no longer be the Centre of the Universe. Their "bonus" for voting in the Harper government is that this government is no longer co-dependent on Quebec for it's majority because of the NDP "Orange Crush" in that province. Because the only thing Alberta has to offer is money and not votes, Ontario now runs the Harper Circus - even if neither party realises this yet.

Well, this Ontarian just got plain scared of a Harper majority. But hey, I don't live in the GTA.

Torontonians have been smartening up (mainly in the 905, but with some progress in the 416 too). First they elected Rob Ford and sent David Miller's politburo packing. Now they've partnered with Western Canada to deliver a majority to the Conservatives. Once they help elect Tim Hudak premier, it will be a trifecta.

Au Contraire! They have been dumbing up, succombing to the fearmongering put out by the Cons. Just have to wait for it to sink in......

That's just what I was going to say, Rick! I prefer the Toronto of 30 years ago. Now, it's just another New York- LA - Paris wannabe. Torontonians and their yuppie suburban plastic row house dwellers really do think they're 'it.' And wow! Tim Hudak! What an improvement! Holy shishkabob! Another fascist ass-kiss. Good times, good times! Time for more selling off of the public trust for next to nothing, giftwrapped for his Bay Street bosses.

So much for the theory that Ontarians and Torontonians would vote to keep the gun registry.

Yeah, you`re right, but the GTA folks tend to vote with their wallet, and not their minds, even though so called federal and provincial tax cuts always get downloaded to the municipal level resulting in a net tax increase!

One former MP told me of how governments spend months, and sometimes years, making up omnibus bills as thick as a big city telephone book, then hand it to the opposition, and tell them they have a week to review it. The FTA was an example of that. I filled a dumpster with them.
