The AB government is desperately trying to play down the fact that they originally promised us lower prices. I can't remember who it was, but I heard a new story on the radio a few weeks ago talking about how the AB government or maybe a study they commissioned said prices would have gone up even without deregulation, and so that wasn't why our prices are high. Whatever. Apparently they can see in to alternate universes now.
It's like, excuse me, ever heard of this magical little land called Manitoba (or insert other province here)? Checked their prices lately? (Ditto for car insurance too.)

I have heard of a magic land called Manitoba. What saved us most from privatisation was Filmon's decision to privatise MTS. Our phone rates went up, workers got laid off, workers had to go on strike. Even Filmon was afraid to talk about privatisation of electricity and auto insurance in after that, at least in public.
