And the saga continues...

N. Dakota may tap into Canadian lake
Broadcast News
April 12, 2005

North Dakota is considering a plan to transfer water by pipeline from Lake of the Woods, on the Canada-U.S. border, in the event of a severe drought.
It's predicted a drought will happen within 25 years.

The proposal is likely to fan Canada-U.S. tensions already simmering over the Devil's Lake project, which is also in North Dakota.

That would see poor-quality, parasite-infected water from Devil's Lake transferred into the Red River, which runs through Manitoba.

continued here
I read about this previously, there was also a documentary on the issue, the problem is once that contaminated water is let in, pumping it back won't fix the problem. It will contaminate our water, with foreign parasites etc, and nobody knows the damage it will cause, but the U.S. or the people involved with this project simply don't care, they're going to do period! We are going to have to be very aggressive to stop them! The way they portrayed themselves on the doc, was extremely self-centred.
