This isn’t exactly the death of Spain, but this past Sunday voters in Catalonia approved a plan to increase their autonomy within Spain. The <i>Catalan Statute of Autonomy</i> had a 74% Yes vote with roughly 50% of eligible voters chiming in; see <a href="http://www.iht.com/bin/print_ipub.php?file=/articles/2006/06/19/news/spain.php">here</a> for a few of the Statute’s features.<br /> <br /> In further Spanish news, Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.
