I have always believed, even since before the invasion, that the primary objective of deposing Saddam was to open Iraq's isolated oil industry to American oil interests (Halliburton, ExxonMobil, Texaco...)
Given that the only two government buildings that were protected from looting were the Oil Ministry and the Interior Ministry coupled with the subsequent field-day these oil companies are having in Iraq (no-bid contracts, billions of dollars of over-billing...), this appears to have been true. The US government doesn't have direct control of Iraq's resources per say as that would have seemed a little to... imperial. Now, that the un-nessecary burdens of the government have been rightfully downloaded to the 'captains of industry' bush can focus of re-building Iraq into a beacon of democracy for the oppressed people of Iraq.... but wait, that responsibility has already been sold to the highest bidder.
Yes, that is right, given the strategic location Iraq is geo-politically, the US already has commissioned the construction of some 14 new military bases in Iraq.

I think you are right, they are planning to establish military bases all over the mid east.I wonder if they plan to clean up the depleted uranium, that they have strewn all over Iraq, or if they plan to do the "there is no proof that the deformities and mutations afflicting your children who also have contracted cancer,(which probably runs in your family because you and your spouse have it too), was caused by the depleted uranium which permiates the dust blown around the country and the ground water and the crops grown in country" two step when their military personnel fall ill and start asking questions?

I think that the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq are just the beginning of the neocon's plan to put the US right at China's doorstep if they ever decide to start sabre-rattling.

Eventually, they may have access to right to China's border through a corridor of "pacified" countries stretching from the Mediterranean and going eastward. The only large gap is Iran...

[/QUOTE]

And so the PNAC is going according to plan.

I'm new on this site but surely the "Project for the New American Century" has been discussed here before ?
If not and for those who would like to know what the the American MIC (Military Industrial Complex) has in store for the world, this is the place to read all about it. Link : PNAC
Most interesting is the document titled " Rebuilding America's Defenses" under the "Defense and National Security" tab.
Do not forget to take a peak at the document's signatories on the Statement of Principles. Many names are now part of the current American administration. This Project has been in the works for over a decade and is progressing very well.
Read and be afraid. Be very afraid.

Yes, I speak of China.
The wild deuce in this game will be Russian oil.
Sino-Russian relations have not always been the warmest and it is everyone's best guess how Russia will play its card.
