Here's the scary thought, veterans today are recognized as fighting in WW2, a war with at least a justifiable cause. In fifty years, many of our veterans will be of Bosnia, Afghanistan and Haiti, military ventures without UN approval or clearly opportunistic and anti-democratic causes. Many will actually be war criminals and representatives of failed peace keeping missions in Somalia and Rawanda. The future of the military is for the most part in alliance with the US imperial designs. In other words, it will be quite right that veteran's day diminishes.

CanWest was publicizing mercenary forces fighting "terrorists" in the Philippines and making good $. No doubt... These people were however originally trained at the expense of canadian taxpayers to do questionable deeds IMHO. That is not my kind of canadian sovereignty cause!

The NP locks out a lot of their content and do not seem to generate RSS feeds. They are still somewhat backward IMHO in certain areas in spite of the occasional gems of news coverage/analysis.
