Aye, I wouldn't know who to vote for. NDP, PC, or even the Canadian Action Party. The last two will never make it though, but I don't want to pay huge taxes for a ND government.
Not even one seat is occupied by a Neo-democrat from Quebec. It's sad because it's a great party and a nice chief but just let me explain you why they unfortunately didn't have success in Quebec.

The point of view of the party is exactly the same as the BQ, except for the sovereignty of Quebec. They are both for gay marriage, against the anti-missile shield, for Kyoto... The left-wingers in Quebec are in vast majority for the sovereignty because they know that the english-canadians are, in general, much more on the right than the people of Quebec.

Jack Layton can hardly speak french, it's very disappointing because he lived many years in Quebec. Even Stephen Harper is much more at ease to speak french.
I disagree the only place that polls super high for conservatives is in Alberta it's like 60%. I'm from Saskatchewan and to say that english speaking Canadians are much more on the right is wrong. Quebecers are much less religious but that isn't because you speak french or are of french origin it's because of the Quiet revolution in Quebec. I remind you quebec used to be the most religious province in Canada. with Jean Charest as your premier how left can you be? Premiers in the west are more on the left then your Quebec Liberals.

Separation in Quebec? Last time I checked it was 31% of the Quebec population wanting separation and if you were to ask the vast majority of Quebecers if they want a constitutional deal to keep them in Canada or want to be a country polls have shown even after the 1995 referendum they would rather prefer that.

I don't want to get off topic but it's stupid for Quebecers to simply vote Bloc and actually think they do anything. It's a minority government and they aren't even influential in getting what they want.

If Quebecers want a left wing government in Ottawa and more money going to Quebec then it's not too hard to figure out who they should be voting for next election.
Quebecers have the same resposibility in electing a prime minister as someone from Saskatchewan or Ontario.

I was watching this show on the CBC called au courant and it's a show telling english Canada what's going on with french Canada and part of the show was asking people in Quebec about the separation question and people in Quebec who spoke they were for and against then after the segment ended it showed in a leger poll conducted in Quebec 31% of Quebecers supported separation.

June 28th 48% of Quebecers supported the Bloc quebecois( Even with a sponsorship scandal they can't even get 50% of the vote) they did a poll of people who voted for le Bloc and said 30% of those who voted Bloc don't believe in separation. If you do you the math it makes it out to be around 30% of the Quebec population that is in support of separation.

I agree Quebec is the leftie in the Canadian conferderation and I don't believe for one second that Quebecers are all of a sudden right wingers because Charest is in power. Because the Quiet Revolution made Quebec left wing is that a good reason to break apart the country? As you can see i don't believe in separation because it's extremly irrational.

Most provinces still have there electricity and water in public hands. It's your province that has the most private clinics more then ALBERTA!!!!

Yes and the federal Liberals are right wing but remember the voters who vote liberal are left because here in Saskatchewan for example the NDP is in power because people are on the left of center 70% last provincial election. But when it comes to federal politics not just in Saskatchewan but the rest of Canada people tend to vote Liberal with there reason being they don't want stephen harper without realising Paul Martin is just as right wing as Stephen Harper. Maybe not socially but forsurely in economics.

Don't think only 30% are for separatism, the poll is just not representative of all Quebec. They probably did it in a area like westmount. I could do a poll in Saguenay Lac-Saint-Jean, it will be like 80% for the sovereignty.
It's your province that has the most private clinics more then ALBERTA!!!!
But it's not a two speeds health system where the rich can pay for better care. Everyone have acces to these clinics for free ( with the "assurance maladie" card ). They also have public "clinics" like the CLSC and CHSLD.

They didn't do it for one area in Quebec. They said in Quebec it's at 31%. If you look at the popular vote le Bloc had it was 48% june 28th and 30% of there voters weren't even separatists.

In september during the health conference with all the premiers it was announced on the news that a clinic in montreal would be charging money to get treated. That would make it a private for profit clinic.

So what ? a lot of separatists boycott the federal elections.

Only a few people who voted for the bloc weren't separatists. Come one, everyone know it's a separatist party, the federalists vote for the liberals, the conservatives or the NPD. 30% of bloquistes who are federalists is just impossible, why would they vote for them if they don't agree with sovereignty of Quebec ?

They voted for le bloc quebecois but don't believe in separation.

Next referendum will it only be 31% voting for a country? That's if there is a next referendum because if the constitution is changed by 2008 then there is no more reason for a referendum.

The next referendum will be the last one ( Bernard Landry said it ), if you are sure the No is going to win, you should agree with it.

It's at your advantage, trust me Quebec won't accept the new constitution if all the population can vote. If only Charest and his team can decide, of course the new const. will pass but it's just unfair. We will have to do sovereignty with weapons, is that what you want ?

Canada won't ever see it's full potential until we can live in a country that doesn't have a separatist party.

The constitution would pass if the majority of Quebecers supported it! Having over 60% of quebecers supporting a new constitution would end separation because the majority would be in favor on keeping Quebec in Canada.

Another thread degrades to Quebec bickering.

I say hold a referendum. The "Yes" vote results in separation. The "No" vote results in constitutional amendment. 'Nuff said.

As for the National Child Care program, it IS an investment in education. Early Childhood Development is the most crucial determinant of a child's abilities later in life. There are plenty of studies on this, if you care to research it. But from a "logical" perspective, just look at how quickly and easily children pick up languages. You can teach one-year-old to speak a language with no other language to use as a reference. You can teach a pre-schooler 3 or 4 languages simultaneously. And at the same time, the kid learns all the basic functions that will get him/her through the day. To limit early childhood education to those who can afford it is a perpetuation of class division. Assuming that you believe that all children should attend school, then you should recognize that early childhood education (child care) is just as important and, thus, needs to be provided to all children.
