The more effort I put into getting the message across the more I am beginning to realize that we are doomed. We have supposed political journalists who simply dismiss my call to action and others who do not even reply. We also have MP's assistants and staff who have no clue about the issue and rather than doing their own research or following my links they are more concerned with 'which constituency I reside in'! we cannot forward your information without you first providing us with your mailing address. I mean, what the hell is going on?
Hi Chris,

Are you a constituent of Libby's looking for information from your MP? Please understand that Libby receives hundreds of email, letters, calls and faxes everyday. She is not able to answer all of this correspondence so it is important that priority is given to the constituents she represents, and her critic area.

I can tell you the NDP has continually challenged, first the Liberal and now the Conservative government's policies of deeper integration with the United States. The NDP was instrumental in stopping Canada signing on to Missile Defence, has called for a review of Canada's treaties, and recently denounced the government for its secret Security and Prosperity talks.

As for your second question, the NDP is not the government and certainly can't defend or explain these practices. If you are a constituent of Libby's and would like to elaborate your concerns, Libby would be glad to forward them to Minister Stockwell Day, on your behalf.

Kind regards,

I'm sorry but you will need to be more clear in your questions. What is SPP and what is the issue that is of concern to you?

Also, is this issue relating to legislation currently before the House of Commons?

Thank you for your clarification.
Hi Chris,

Of course people are welcome to be in touch with MPs. But as I mentioned, it's not possible to respond to and act on the hundreds of pieces of correspondence we receive each day. So, an MPs first obligation is to their constituency - those they were elected to represent.

Thanks for bringing your concerns to Libby's attention.

Regards,

RE: Hi Leanne Holt,

I can certainly appreciate what you are stating in the first paragraph. However, since when is a Canadian citizen not allowed to address MPs from across Canada?

I'm happy to read your confirmation that the NDP is working against this issue. I already know that MP Peter Julian certainly is and have been in touch with his office on this subject.

Quite frankly I don't understand how our MPs stand by and allow unelected people to be formed into Ministries (working groups) and then these people in turn creating Regulatory Bodies that supersede our courts. Are our MPs all uninformed? Why are the Canadian citizens being kept in the dark on this issue? This is exactly why I am bringing this issue to your attention.

Thanks for your reply,
