BC forest companies have advocated doing all value added work on BC resources in China as wages are so much lower there. To multinational companies people in BC are considered disposabe and they assume no responsibility for dumping Canadians into t he ranks of the destitute and homeless.
This is a clear demonstration of the fallacies of conservative belief that a government can be run like a business with business values( or lack of values).
Governments , and citizens of any country are stuck with the liabilities of business decisions to ignore the social implications of strictly financial decisions , if we allow such corporate anarchy to rein uncontroled. Controling such anarchy is precisely what governments are for, and governments should be held accountable for any failure to do so.
Brent
Brent
This is a disgrace. Almost as bad as Ontario PM Dalton McGuinty suggesting Chinese auto assembly plants be set up in Ontario.

Canada already has the problem of not adding enough value to our lumber. BC is a huge problem--they saw timber, they don't do what they should do--manufacture wood into furniture. Sending jobs to China is simply making the problem even worse.

Turning a once proud G-8 country into a colony of a third-world country is an embarassment. The U.S. is even more a colony of China.
