Martin ,despite his nationalistic flag waving , hasn't publicly denounced Deep Integration. Actually while making nationalistic noises, has continued to secretly persue his pet project of Deep integration with the US.He has done this without a majority government, and thus without a clear mandate from Canadians. He has even yankified our Canadian Coast Guard.
Brent

Exactly why anyone who votes Liberals isn't exactly intouch with what's going on with Canada.

I betcha the NDP will be bringing this up after christmas. If they want to win and yes I said win they need to make this THEIR campaign issue. The complete Americanization of Canada is so ridiculous. At what point does Canada stop being a country and simply becomes a colony?

When I suggested to Jack Layton that he should respond more to nationalist sentiment in Canada, and make threats to our sovereignty a major plank in his election platform, and try to represent Canadians concerned about the steady erosion of our sovereignty,Canadians not represented since the demise of the Mel Hurtig Vanity party, he said" I plan to make that the central issue of our campaign." That was just before the last election and he did little to keep his promise other than a little nationalist mumbling at the end of the campaign. This time he has done much better, altho the issue is still under represented considering the fears of many Canadians over the issue.
Brent
