You know I really liked Dean and thought he was a fresh ideas guy, but I thought the media really hung him out over that 'scream'. I watched it and didn't see the hype at all, it was a rally cry, nothing more...too bad for the real people.

The microphone into which be spoke was of the type that cancelled out backround noise. I once saw a clip of that moment from the prespective of the audience and you wouldn't have known he made that scream if you weren't looking directly at him because the cheers of that crowd totally drowned it out. I wish I could find that one again....

I was really rooting for Dean as he was the only one I could see making any changes for the better. <br /> <br />I view their system as completely broken and totally corrupt and democratic in name only. It is 100% by and for big corporations and special interest groups. This may be why we haven't heard any opposing voices in the last 3 1/2 years. That plus their distorted idea of patriotism. Anyway, I was hoping that Dean as somewhat of an outsider might be more willing to attack the fundamental weaknesses inherent in the US system. As it stands now, very little will change no matter who occupies the White House and the Likud party will continue to rule. <br /> <br />It is all so depressing. Here we have by far the most powerful country on this planet and they behave worse than a bunch of squabbling children. (I am being very polite here.) Unfortunately, it is all of us that pay the price. <br />

Ok I am going to say something here that many will think kooky, but there is a radio program on late at night, 'Coast to Coast' and they have interesting but sometimes weird guests, there was a 'seer' or visionary, anyway he said, that 'Bush will get elected next election and that it will be the last election' I don't know if I believe that stuff but some people obviously have these gifts. Anyway it'll be interesting. Not sure what he meant by it being the last; could they change the system completely?? <img align=absmiddle src='images/smilies/frown.gif' alt='Frown'>

I am no seer but I have followed America's history for such a long time that it is easy to project probable events into the future if only based on its past history and current situation. <br />American democracy is presently at a very dangerous juncture in its history. The checks and balances built within their constitution are almost extinct. <br />1, their selected supreme court installed a president. <br />2, their 2 party system now share the same ideology and have almost completely melded into one single entity. <br />3, because of number 1 and 2, their house of representatives and congress now cater to one single branch...the executive one sitting in the WH. Dissent is no longer allowed and freedoms previously protected by the American constitution is becoming a thing of the past since the Patriot Acts were voted into law. <br /> <br />It is my opinion that unless Americans take the matter into their own hands, their country will quickly slide into a police and fascist state. Whoever sits in the WH in the next 4 years, Bush or Kerry, will not change this. Both are owned by corporate and foreign interests. (Read Israeli interests on the latter). <br />I am no seer but if the current trend continues, there WILL be Americans to take up the fight in order to protect their freedom, liberty and democracy. (albeit a minority of them as the majority have succombed to their government controlled media and the propaganda it dishes out ) Those Americans who stand up and strongly dissent will be squashed, more will stand up and the same will happen to them. Eventually, it will become evident to the world that America is fighting a civil war, groupuscule by groupuscule. <br />That is my belief and I think it will happen before the decade is over.

I've heard different theories about how bush will take this coming US election. These range from an "October Surprise" to the staging of another attack on US soil to justify indefinate postponement of the election. What I think is more probable is that if Kerry does win he sure won't be in for more than four years. Therefore, the Bush Dynasty, being well established in the GOP for decades can simply call upon Neil or Jeb bush to carry the neoconservative torch again. <br /> <br />...and I do agree with the description of US politics as a one party system masquerading as a two party system masquerading as a democracy (even though the US is actually a representative republic).

Kerry will win but it won't change anything. I remember a quote and I think it was Nader is: the difference between Kerry and Bush is that Bush is driving toward a brick wall at 90 MPH, Kerry would slow down to 60. <br /> <br />At the current troop levels and rate of retention a draft will be in effect in 2005 under Kerry or Bush. The US needs to throw another tea party against yet another George and this time it is of their own making. May god have mercy on us all.

I'm not so sure that there will be a US election in the near future. They have set the stage for postponement if there is a wmd attack. The Democrats haven't protested so it looks like more of the same.
