[QUOTE BY= Brent Swain] Most of America is getting along much better now that they have given the US the finger.Especialy the 75 percent of South America that have recently elected left wing governments.
Immigration gives the US economy a huge number of virtual slave labourers with abslutely no protectioin from the law, without which they would take a huge economic hit in the pocket book. They can only push them so far away from any legal protection , before they shoot themselves in the foot, economically.
I think Brent you are right in part, but Pat Bichanan is referring more to how globalism has destroyed the American middle class and indebted the U.S. government.

The only people who have benefitted are the biggest corporations--yet they have weakened their own country's place in the world long term via debt and technology transfer and impoverished their own workers.

Average Americans have been just as hurt by globalism as anyone else in the west in some ways, despite getting cheap consumer crap. They may not get hurt as much as the U.S. is in reality quite protectionist, but still the U.S. has deindustrialized compared to what it used to be.
