Playstation 2 Game : Tekken Tag Tournament Review

I first played this game 4 months ago being a large sceptic of the Tekken series and not being a huge fan of fighting genre games. I figured "hey, its here why not play it" , it started off with a decent set of about 16 characters and quickly gained more and more with each beating of the 9 round arcade version (which is not incredibly hard to beat). The idea of the game is similar to tag team wrestling, beat the shit out of the other guy and when you get hurt, switch to your partner, not a difficult concept eh?. Upon beating the game with the basic 16 characters you gained all of the secret bonus characters. I think the creaters did an excellent job of creating exciting original characters with exotic and amazing moves. There is a boxing kangaroo character named Roger, a panda bear (who dances no less) , Eddy (who fights in brazillian caepoiera (sp?) and a mechanical space ninja by the name of Yoshimitsu to name a small few, They also added in several fantasticly cool moves such as Yoshimitsu's hilariously pointless Harikari (he stabs himself in the stomach with a sword doing large amounts of damage to himself), and Panda's Dance Taunt where he puts his hands on his hips and does a ridiculous looking strut. The game itself has several modes, the basic Arcade mode (beat the 9 stages of opponents), Vs Battle (fight a friend),Team battle (fight with up to 8 players on your team until all are dead),Survival (see how many fights in a row you can win) and Time attack (beat the arcade mode as fast as you can). After beating the Arcade mode with all the characters you unluck Tekken Bowl which is a bowling mini-game using your tekken characters which is a fun and exciting game to play in itself. I think this is a spectacular and original game which will have you coming back to play it day in and day out. The replayability factor is quite good considering ive been playing 4 months almost every day and its a new challange trying to get high on the survival high score table and time attack high score table. I give this game 4 stars out of 5 and recommend anyone with a playstation 2 at least rent it once. This game goes in my books as one of the top fighting games of all time with Street Fighter 2 and the Original 2 Mortal Kombat games.
